Crossan treble is highlight on Easter weekend

Easter weekend at Lifford saw decent crowds on Good Friday and Easter Sunday entertained by some fine racing over both nights and the kids got a chance to meet the Easter Bunny on Sunday.

Easter Sunday featured four first round heats of The Tote S2/S3 over 325 yards with two local trainers producing two winners each

Declan Crossan provided the two fastest heat winners, amazingly both recorded an identical time of 17.59.  Kilbride Classic (Droopy’s Sydney x Dream Queen) was registering a tenth career win in heat 3.  Kilbride took an early lead and ran out strong winner by 2.75 lengths from Chilas Bandit.

Heat 4 also went to the Crossan kennel with Eva Pearl (Droopys Sydney x Crokers Princess), again recording a very smart 17.59, winning by 0.75l  from Wellfield Glory.

Cathal McGhee provided the other two first round heat winners, with Ardnasool Rebel (Ravenswood Hugo x Droopys Elite) taking heat 1 in 17.85 and Millburn Dove (Grangeview Ten x Farloe Maverick) taking heat 2 in 17,64.

All to play for next week in the semi-finals.

Declan Crossan completed a notable treble on the evening with Aghaburren Eric (Droopys Sydney x Aghaburren Model) winning the Old Dalys A5 525 in 29.31, after recovering from some early trouble.  This young dog, still a puppy, could be one to keep an eye on.
