Tuttles and Longvale star on St Patrick’s Night

Patrons witnessed some top class performances at Lifford Stadium over the weekend with several eye-catching runs.

Locally owned Longvale Glory took a very competitive Trackside Restaurant Open Sprint over 325 yards in a flying 17.37.  A fast break and super early pace led to an electric split time of 4.21 and saw the Georgina Gibbons owned son of Good News x Prints Policy run out a very deserving winner of the weekends top sprint. Connections have been winning races at Lifford for many many years and this fella is one of their fastest ever over the sprint trip.

Tuttles Ben, a strapping 80lb son of Good News x Tuttles Twilight, recorded a fine 31.56 over 575 yards on Sunday night.  Ben’s seventh career win and his fourth in succession was secured with a display of all round pace that saw him cross the winning line 5 lengths to the good.  Ben has won over multiple distances since the turn of the year and has given owners Michael and Rory Stewart plenty to cheer about in recent weeks.

Other winners on Sunday night included :-

A double for local trainer Paul Whyte in the first two races, courtesy of Fridays Addition (17.65) and Pescadero (17.70)

A fine comeback win for Canya Hot Shot in her first race since October last year winning the closing race, an S2 325, in a super 17.53

A fine performance for the veteran Unreliable, trained by Willie Mullan, recording his 14th career victory in very decent 28.94 for 525 yards.

There were wins for locally trained Ardnasool Rebel (17.75) for Cathal McGhee and Do It Jella (29.32) for Ray White.

Izzy’s Jessie took race 7 for owner Ann Breslin in 17.85
